Sojourn in Poland, 05-02 through 05-10 : I was VERY fortunate to get to spend 8-9 days in Poland, as a guest of Fr. Stehlin's!! Those were an incredible nine days, in an incredible country. (Yes, there are a LOT of pictures here, but they comprise a 9-day stay in a unique country... I simply couldn't have taken any fewer! ;) I do hope you'll enjoy them.)

Foire du Trône, 05-01 : The "Foire du Trône" is a fair that has been held in Paris nearly every single year for several centuries. It is said to have been founded in 957 by King Lothaire of Lorraine, with the purpose of providing merchants with a place to trade rice and grain. The first actual fair (in the sense we know it) took place in 1131. It suffered along with everything else during the Revolution and is drastically different today than it was when it started out. It is still immensely popular, however, hosting millions every year throughout its two-month duration.

Rose and I went on May 1 - the Feast of St. Joseph the Workman and the "Fête du Travail" in France. It was a gorgeous day... and the crowds were out in abundance! It was quite an interesting experience for us to go to a fair (more like an amusement park than a fair) in France. Some things were similar to the U.S... others were not.
